Atelier Tonini was responsible for the restoration of the fine wood columns, which were recovered by means of careful embossing where rotting was present. In addition, exterior shutters were restored and supplemented with new ones where missing.
“The restoration of the antique building was justified by the possibility of accommodating the management of the company Sportsystem in the dominical section and in the two barchessa of Miazzi, as well as to use the large open space behind it to create a large underground place for offices and laboratories. Thus, the eighteenth-century villa underwent a careful philological restoration” (Francesco Dal Co, “Un’opera esemplare tra antico e nuovo”, September 1998, Milan, Casabella 659, Chapter 4 “Afra e Tobia Scarpa”, page 2).
